Interview practice
AI mock interviews, out loud, for the job you actually applied to
Ace’s interviewer has read the posting and your resume before it says a word, so the questions are about this role and your experience — not a generic list. You answer by voice, the way you will on the day, and get a written debrief afterwards.
What you’d ask Ace
“Interview me for this role, and be tough.”
How it works
- 1
Choose the role
Any job on your board. The interviewer is briefed on the posting and on the resume you are sending for it.
- 2
Pick how it should feel
Like the real thing, gentle for a first run, under pressure, or behavioural stories only. That is the only setup question.
- 3
Talk, then read the debrief
A spoken interview in your browser, then a written debrief on what landed and what to tighten before the real one.
Why practise out loud
Most interview prep is reading lists of questions and thinking about answers. The interview itself is spoken, timed and has follow-ups, and an answer that sounds fine in your head often runs long, loses its point or skips the result when you say it.
Speaking to an interviewer that asks follow-ups is the closest thing to the real room. It is where you find out that your best story needs a number in it, or that "tell me about yourself" takes you three minutes.
Four ways to run it
You choose the interviewer’s manner, not a job category — the questions come from the posting.
- Like the real thing — a normal first round, a fair mix at a fair pace
- Go easy on me — warm, patient, no pouncing on a wobble
- Put me under pressure — sharper follow-ups, no vague answers let through
- Drill my stories — behavioural questions only, answered in STAR form
A debrief you can act on
After the session Ace writes up what you did well and what to change, tied to specific answers. Ace keeps the transcript, so the next conversation can pick up where the practice left off: which story to rework, which question to drill again.
Common questions
What is an AI mock interview?
A practice interview run by an AI interviewer. In AceJobs it is spoken, briefed on the specific job posting and your resume, asks follow-up questions, and ends with a written debrief.
Is AI interview practice free on AceJobs?
Yes. Voice interview practice costs a credit a minute, and the free tier starts with 100 credits and adds 25 every week. Pro adds 600 credits a month.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Interviews run in the browser; you only need to allow microphone access when the session starts.
Can it practise behavioural interviews?
Yes. Choose “Drill my stories” and the interviewer asks tell-me-about-a-time questions only, pushing for the situation, your action and the result.
